Once at Karura Forest
Waterfalls, allow your senses to connect your body with nature. You can take in
as a little meditation session that is also healthy for your mind, soul, and
body.
As a local that was
born and raised in Kiambu near Karura Forest, this is my routine once I arrive
at the waterfall.
Sight: At the waterfall, you will see cascading water, shimmering as it
tumbles down moss-covered rocks.
Sunlight dances on the
droplets, creating a mesmerizing display of rainbows. During the rainy season,
the water transforms into a mesmerizing orange spectacle, reflecting the rich
red soil of the area.
It's a sight that
paints a vivid memory, etching itself onto your mind long after your visit.
Sound: The thundering roar of the waterfall fills the air, a powerful yet
calming presence. Feel the vibrations resonate through your feet as the water
crashes onto the rocks below.
Listen closely and you
might hear the delicate tinkling of smaller streams as they weave through the
surrounding foliage. It's a symphony of nature, composing a soundtrack unique
to this hidden gem.
Touch: Feel the cool mist rising from the base of the falls, refreshing your
skin on a warm day. Dip your toes (carefully!) into the pool below,
invigorating your senses with the cool touch of the water.
Breathe in the fresh,
earthy air, scented with the fragrance of damp moss and blooming flowers. Allow
the waterfall to awaken all your senses, creating a truly immersive experience.
Smell: Take a deep breath and inhale the fresh air of the forest. The scent
of damp earth mingles with the sweet fragrance of wildflowers, creating a
