Itinerary
Your local guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Depart for Tsavo East National Park, driving along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. Check in at your lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, depart from the lodge for an evening game drive until approximately 6:00 PM. Here you have a chance to see diverse wildlife, especially giraffes, zebras, buffalos, many elephants, and, if lucky, the big cats. (Meals: Lunch & Dinner, Drinks not included)
Accommodation: Voi Safari Lodge or similar mid-range lodge.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive (or morning and afternoon sessions as preferred) to explore different sections of Tsavo East. You might visit the swampy areas near the pipeline, which often attract elephants for mud bathing, and other key waterholes. Explore the areas around Luggard Falls on the Galana River and take in views of the vast Yatta Plateau. Return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. Enjoy an early breakfast followed by a morning game drive to capture the sunrise over the Tsavo plains. This is often a good time to see big cats, either hunting or on a fresh kill. Later, depart from Tsavo East and begin your journey back to Nairobi, with lunch en route or upon arrival in Nairobi (operator dependent). You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
